Nice and Bright! | |
I was hoping to use these on my Joule Thief circuits to get a brighter light but, the forward current is too high for these to get any brighter than any other LED. I have a 50 mA driver for these LEDs and at just that current these are SUPER bright. They are big at 8mm but, work great for under cabinet lighting.

Very bright! | |
I purchased a couple of LED task lights at a second hand store for a couple dollars each. They were older lights from when white LEDs werent as bright. I used these to replace all 36 LEDs in each light. WOW! BRIGHT! I attached clamps to the lights and move them around my shop whenever I need extra light somewhere. I have also added them to some shop tools, like my bandsaw, which didnt have any lights. As another reviewer mentioned, I also use them on R/C aircraft.

Great for RC Aircraft! | |
These are great as RC aircraft nav, landing, and strobe lights, because of their high brightness and 120 degree viewing angle. All that I checked, biased at 2.8 V @ 35-40 mA. 40 mA for 20+ minutes and strobing at 100mA at 1HZ and 10% duty cycle does not pose a problem. A Sharpie marker worked better than I had expected to tint them.

Dont Trust the Notch | |
These work fine and are very bright, but manufacturing QC appears to have been lacking; some of the units have the flat on the wrong side. The lead lengths are correct; one can see the die carrier inside and its orientation is consistent with the lead lengths. Cant beat the price, though.
